Corn Meter Calibration - What is it and why is it important?

Kevin advises that "Every part on a meter needs to run true to avoid planting-spacing pitfalls." Consider if a meter delays dropping a kernel just 1/30 of a second, that causes the seed to be placed in the furrow 3.2 inches behind its intended location. That is considered a "skip" and skips cut yields by 2 - 7 bushels. The Kimberley Corn Meter Crew calibrate, clean and repair customers' corn meters every winter. Check out our Corn Meter Page to learn more.
